Choose the right Setup Box (STB)
On Android Systems there are three main elements which must be taken into consideration:
- STB (Setup Box) physical installation
- Remote Control (User experience)
- Launcher on the Android System
In the following section we will recommend some STBs, but please note that this may differ from market and counry considerations and sourcing. RISTV has been succesfully tested on many Google Certified STBs running various Android versions and releases.

Important: Before buying considerable quantities of STBs, make first a test on some STBs and remote controls (see Remote Control Section for more details about Remote Controls for STBs and TV), to make sure that the RISTV app runs smoothly and gives good and quick responses to the user.
STB Physical Installation
Depending on the STB model, size and connectors, you should make sure that the STB is hidden and well connected to the TV set. If you are using an IR (Infrared remote control), make sure that you connect an IR-extender (IR eye) to assure a good IR reception for the STB. Use preferably Bluetooth remote control (with USB dongle), in order that the remote control must not be pointed directly the IR receiver for a better user experience.
